I take a lot of pride in that, especially at AdBlock, where the work we do feels really important. I also get to help make sure we’re consistently delivering quality software. I get to dig in and figure out what all the little issues are that may have been missed. Here’s a little more about Alya, in her own words: What do you love most about QA and the work you do at AdBlock? Being in QA is a lot like doing detective work. If you’ve never really had to think about AdBlock and whether it’s working or not, that’s in large part because Alya has tried hard to break AdBlock so it doesn’t break when it reaches you. For Alya, who splits her time between Canada and Egypt, this means she spends her days figuring out all the ways a user may need AdBlock to function (no matter where they live), and making sure it’s performing as promised. That’s no simple task! AdBlock is currently available on 7 browsers, our services are translated into multiple languages, and our extension is used by folks all over the world, from Venezuela to Vietnam. She’s the person who makes sure the AdBlock you know and love works as smoothly as possible when it reaches you. Alya joined last March as AdBlock’s first dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst. To help our readers understand more about who makes AdBlock work, we wanted to spend time this month highlighting the work of one of our more recent additions to the team, Alya. And having people with a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences, scattered across the world, is part of what makes AdBlock successful. Today we’re a team of 13 people who work remotely from all over the globe. That’s because as our community of users has grown, we’ve realized that we needed to grow our team to better support the needs of those users. You may have noticed that the AdBlock team is bigger than it used to be. The AdBlock team at our fall offsite in 2019
